Springtime!

The weekend after we got home from skiing, daylight savings time went into effect. On top of that the weather has turned warm and sunny this past week. We've been really enjoying getting out on our road bikes. We rode one day with our sister-in-law Paola and nephew Sam on the paved trail in Charles County, MD which is about 27 miles round-trip.

The path goes through wetlands, streams, and farms. It is very pleasant, and very flat making it a good early season ride!

Colorado Ski Trip

We enjoyed some great skiing in Colorado at the end of February and into March. The weather wasn't too bitterly cold, it snowed every few days to keep things fresh, we got to see many of our friends who live there, we took some lessons and we skied some new trails. There are views everywhere out there. Here are just a few...

The view from the car, driving on I-70 west approaching Glenwood Canyon the day we arrived

The lunchtime view, from the mid-lodge at Arapahoe Basin

From the top of A-Basin, the views of Keystone & Breckenridge ski areas

This is one freaky cornice!

This sweet dog had some sort of degenerative eye disease, and had to wear "doggles"

We took a break from skiing and went to Colorado Springs, where we spent an afternoon at Garden of the Gods (next four pictures)

The beach scene at A-Basin on a Saturday afternoon. Yes, that is a keg buried in the snow

The knob in the foreground is in the ski area; the rest is basically Loveland Pass.

Looking down the ski slope all the way to the highway.

Unknown, but quite chic, ski baby.
