Colorado Part One

Our drive to Colorado went pretty much according to plan. Day one brought us to Corydon, IN; day two ended in Topeka, KS where the hailstorms started after we arrived; and on day three we arrived at our friend's house in Littleton, CO.

Here is the view while driving in eastern Colorado... click to see a larger picture where you can just make out the Rocky Mountains way off in the distance!

We spent a few days in Denver, exploring some of the surrounding areas. We spent one afternoon with Anna's brother, David, hiking in Roxborough State Park.

Can you see George Washington in this sandstone formation? Hint: he's lying on his side...

Gorgeous view from the overlook we hiked to.

We drove up to the mountains one day and skiied at Keystone. Here is Bob starting down the slope with views to the west, including Breckenridge ski area on the left.

We are staying in our favorite condo in Frisco, CO where we hosted a party for our "front range friends". Here is Blaise, Chris and Bob jammin'.

Our niece Laura spent her spring break from the Coast Guard Academy with us. She arrived after 22 hrs with no sleep, and she did great the next day cross-country skiing at 10,000 feet or so. Here is Laura, Bob and Anna...

We had a lovely ski day with lots of snow and beautiful forest. Laura is happy to be far away from the structure of the Academy!

On Fat Tuesday we skiied at Keystone, where there was apres-ski live music. Here is Bob with the much loved Keystone mascot, Rip-a-Roo.

Anna and Laura, being goofy!
