Bob's Latest Creation

Putting the new bed together. Click picture to see the gorgeous tiger maple wood.

We now have a new bed. We figured out that Bob made the old one at least 25 years ago, and it was certainly well-built and functional but crude in it's design. Bob has come a long way, as witnessed by the craftsmanship of his latest creation!

Custom label for posterity.

Fort Washington

Always one of our favorite local hikes, Fort Washington surprised us again the last time we were there. On this trip we stumbled upon a stone on the exterior wall of the main fort that was carved with a name and the town where Anna's mother was born. How random is that? More Skiing

We've been able to get out skiing three times in January. Most recently we took our nephew, Sam, with us up to Canaan Valley. It had been five years since he had downhill skied, but it didn't take him long to get the hang of it (thanks to uncle Bob's great coaching).

Maybe it was the gourmet WV ski resort food that helped him down the hill...

Here is Sam, making some turns:

Sam was brave enough to sleep in a tent in the snow, although he said he had a hard time staying warm, even with an electric blanket. It got down to 17 degrees that night. We slept in the van, as always!

Next day, we went cross country skiing in the state park to an area we'd never skied before. Here are a few shots from the day...
